Niger Seed

(sometimes spelt Nyjer or referred to as thistle seed) is a favourite of the finch family, but can also be used as a tonic for other birds. the tiny black Niger seed is the seed of the Niger plant native to Ethiopia; tit contains roughly 40% oil, and can act as an important dietary supplement. Niger seed needs a specific feeder; the small narrow grains will easily flow through of a normal seed feeder port.
