Description

An alternative to bone meal or superphosphate. Benefits by its slow action over many years.

This is produced by crushing phosphate rock, which is usually imported from North Africa. It is processed further by chemical treatment to form the well known superphosphate, which is soluble in water, or used raw in the unprocessed state. Rock phosphate like rock potash is very slow in action and the conversion from insoluble phosphate to the soluble form is almost negligible. It does contain trace elements and a single application will remain active for some years, best applied early in the Autumn or Winter to be effective by the next Summer. Use on any soils except those rich in phosphates at 100gms - 200 gms. /sq. m.

A natural mineral fertilizer produced by crushing phosphate rock, it can be used as an alternative to bone meal or basic slag (now unavailable) or superphosphate. It is, therefore, highly suited to organic growers who do not wish to use animal or chemical fertilizers. Also benefits by its slow action over many years. lightly dug during Autumn and early Winter will remain active for several years.  Do not use on soils which are rich in phosphates.

Rate of use 125g per sq.m.
